Ministry of Sound has this week released "Ministry of Sound LIVE", a free streaming radio app for iPhone and Android. As well as a range of curated music channels and exclusive on-demand mixes from famous DJs, it has a non-stop dance music station called LIVE, which will broadcast live from the club itself at weekends.
Radio station Beats 1 has been one of the most warmly-received elements of Apple Music: especially the shows where artists like Drake, Grimes and St. Vincent have turned DJ.
Now Spotify appears to be fighting back with its own take on original, artist-driven radio. Albeit not live. The streaming service has created a new “In Residence” brand that sees artists and guest curators introducing a selection of songs.
YouTube has finally detailed its much rumoured paid subscription service, set for launch on October 28.

Alongside the Red membership, YouTube has also announced a brand new YouTube Music app "that will be available soon," according to the company.

This becomes a big problem for DJs who want to post mixes, mashups, and remixes while also being a problem for DJs when it comes to finding new music. For DJs ready to jump ship below is a look at some viable alternatives.

The change comes after global record labels association IFPI announced today that Friday will be deemed as release day in all key countries round the world, following consultation with indie and major labels, artist representative organisations and music retailers.
