The storm clouds are gathering. We’ve already been given a glimpse of what L Plus has to ffer on his forthcoming album Hideout with the huge Timelapse and Creature Must Die. Just to make sure we’re fully prepared for the immensity of what this ambitiously epic producer has in store, though, here’s another taste.
It hasn't taken long for Alerstorm and Ice Stereo to establish their neuro-tinged Gradual guise as one of Technique Recordings' heavy hitters. Having introduced themselves to the label with some dark and techy flavours, they were last seen on the Summer 2016 compilation bringing the more sunlit vibe of “Falling Pieces”. So, we know they've got multiple facets to their style, which makes this EP a particularly exciting prospect.
We've barely recovered from the sun-scorched assault of Technique's Summer 2016 album, and yet, already, there's more Drumsound & Bassline Smith material for us to get our ears around. The cover art proudly proclaims Technique's Summer 2016 album to be “100% Drum and Bass”. You might be forgiven for thinking that begs more questions that it answers. His game changing long player secured over 20 plays from Mistajam on BBC 1 Xtra, including his Jam Hot track of the week, as well as a broad range of support and love from DJ Hype on Kiss FM, Ras Kwame on Capital, Toddla T on Radio 1, this list goes on and we’ve not even discussed the love Potential got from his peers.
