Skanky Panky Records are back with their first release for 2015, and the firsts don’t end there… Kast3l is a brand new up and coming producer out of Krasnodar, Russia, and this is his debut single. Kast3l (aka Serj Yakovlev) graduated from the College of Arts, Faculty specialising in Piano. He likes his Glitch hop with swinging rhythms and elements of funk and his fave producer is Savant.
EvilBeat makes his second appearance on Barely Legal with this funky jam. The Breakspoll-nominated producer has been on a tear lately, releasing banger after banger on Toast & Jam, Strongs, and Hutman. We're stoked to have him part of the family and you'll hear why with the super funky bass line of "Dancing Booty". Hard beats, driving percussion, some tweaked out vox, old school samples, a big room synth line, and gnarly bass sounds round out this jam.
“One of D&B’s few genuine global super-producers… John B really is in a league of his own… Remember John B’s unique contribution to the genre” - Mixmag
John B is one of electronic music’s most distinctive, creative and consistent contributors. Splicing genre DNA like a modern mad scientist. His latest offering 'Damages' featuring the ethereal vocals of Shaz Sparks, is true testament to this.
"This is a dance floor banger, which is dark and murky enough to ‘bun out Pinky and Perky" - DJ Mag. April 2015 Issue.
The work of Bristolian Pete Horsham has never sounded quite like anything else. Not fifteen years ago when he first announced himself, and certainly not now. While the intervening years have seen Kraymon traverse a range of soundscapes – and perhaps trade the full-on for a touch of understatement – his constants have always been superb melodies, extraordinarily nimble drums, and unerring quality. This very special SOH release finds him in finer form than ever.
One of the Nu Skool Jungle anthems of the past 12 months finally see’s the light of day. Performed all over the world by the Ragga Twins, and showcased by Billy Daniel Bunter at festivals such as Boom Town, Glastonbury & Bestival.
Inspired by The Ragga Twins infamous sound killing vocals from their 80’s sound system days and updated fresh for 2015 in the instant dance floor filler vibes of the Original Mix as well as a host of mixes ranging from Reggae to Dub to Breaks to Bass & Jump Up D&B.
If you have been to a festival somewhere in Europe this past summer, chances are you heard the Freefall Collective. The outfit operates as a well-oiled and energetic live band that are equally as well known and respected for their tight renditions of their own studio made tracks as they are for their high energy freestyle and freeform jam sessions. Regular faces at such events as Boomtown Fair, Noisily, Glastonbury and the Summer Festival in Seville, Spain, the band have been road testing their 2nd album to gaggles of joyous punters.
